Her free time has gone to the dogs and that's the way she likes it.  WFB&M partner Ingrid Campagne helps head A Leg Up Rescue, a nonprofit organization that rescues dogs and cats from shelters and other life threatening situations and places them in foster care until permanent adoptive homes can be found.  "In my two years with ALUR I am proud to say that I've had a hand in rescuing and placing almost 50 dogs with new loving families.  Nothing makes me prouder than to see a frightened hopeless dog come out of her shell when she knows that she is finally safe and loved."  Many people don't know that there are adoptable dogs of all ages available and that twenty-five percent of the dogs in shelters are purebreds.  Most of the dogs in shelters are not there because of behavior issues but rather because they were found as strays or their owners can no longer care for them.   On October 3rd, Ingrid headed a fundraiser in conjunction with Santa Rosa's Grand Fondo bike race.  Famed cyclist Levi Leipheiimer and his wife Odessa Gunn are long time supporters of the organization.  There are several search engines that can match your needs with adoptable pets including petfinder.com, adoptapet.com and of course check out ALUR's website at www.alweguprescue.org.   Please always consider adoption first.
