| Partner Laurie Sherwood to Participate in Benzene Mock Trial Conference Next Month

On December 8-9, 2008, Laurie Sherwood will be participating in the Trial of a Benzene Case Conference sponsored by HarrisMartin Publishing in New York City. The conference will take the format of a mock trial, involving all aspects of an actual benzene trial presented and acted out by a judge, prominent plaintiff and defense attorneys in the field, and a jury.
Representing the defense team, Ms. Sherwood will be examining the person most knowledgeable (PMK) for the corporate defendant. The two-day conference will follow the mock trial from voir dire to a live feed of the jury's deliberation, complete with a jury question and answer session to explore what aspects of the trial affected their decision.
This is the third mock trial conference that HarrisMartin has organized. All have been wildly successful and acclaimed for their realistic depictions of toxic tort trials and for the expert performances of the participating attorneys. The prior two mock trials were co-chaired by WFB&M attorneys.
