20th Annual Seagull Golf Tournament
This year, WFB&M celebrated its 20th annual Seagull Golf Tournament. The event focused on fun as well as on raising money and awareness for Juvenile Diabetes. Although a sold-out golf tournament normally involves 144 golfers, we managed to squeeze 153 hardy souls onto the links for a day. In total, almost 300 people attended the banquet and silent auction that evening. The weather was perfect and the company was enjoyable. Although the shots were as off as usual, everyone had a great day.

The winners of this year's event were members of the Catalina Island Golf Pro Shop. If you get to visit the island, you will see the memorial trophy displayed proudly in the shop's window inscribed with the winners' names from the last 20 years. This day, however, is about much more than golf. The real winners are the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Children's Hospital of Orange County, both of which are working in research, prevention and treatment of this disease. The highlight for the charities was a generous ten thousand dollar donation by one WFB&M client, and the overwhelming continued support from all of the golfers and supporters in attendance.

Over the past 20 years, this event has seen great strides in both the research and treatment of Juvenile Diabetes. WFB&M is both thankful and honored to be a sponsor and participant in the event. The evening's festivities were aptly capped when one of the firm's clients won the 60 inch big screen television, and WFB&M volunteers were tasked with determining how to get it to his East Coast home. Thanks to creative planning, the television arrived safely and is providing many golfing tips for next year's tournament. WFB&M thanks everyone for attending and for their continued support over the years for such a worthwhile cause. See you next year on Monday, May 19th for another great event!
