Litigation Legal Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time (37.5 hours per week), experienced Litigation Legal Assistant for a position in our Irvine, Los Angeles, or San Francisco office. This person will support a busy desk, working with 3 attorneys in our general liability, asbestos, construction, and/or employment departments. This is a hybrid position.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a legal assistant and possess advanced litigation support skills. We expect our next legal assistant to proactively and independently manage their assignments. Excellent judgment and attention to detail, as well as administrative, organizational, and teamwork skills are also critical.

Duties:

  • Preparation of legal documents including pleadings, correspondence and memorandum.
  • Generation of TOA/TOC and shells.
  • State and Federal e-filing, utilizing File & ServeXpress and other online process services.
  • Maintenance of litigation calendar.
  • Assist with preparation for meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, trials and other proceedings.
  • Maintain chron files.
  • Work collaboratively with other legal assistants and Firm employees.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Comfortable using a document management system, ideally iManage Work 10.
  • Accuracy in grammar, spelling, and punctuation and excellent attention to detail.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this non-exempt California-based position is $28 – $40 per hour, not including applicable overtime, and represents Walsworth’s reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
