Here’s what South Florida businesses can do to combat the Zika threat
With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issuing an unprecedented travel warning on Monday, August 1, there are uncertainties with what this means for businesses in the Miami area.
Walsworth travel and hospitality Partner Laurie Sherwood, who was interviewed by South Florida Business Journal, discussed the impact on tour operators and travel agents. “We would advise our clients to advise their travelers to send information from the CDC website, which has the most comprehensive information.” She explained that if a customer contracts Zika on a vacation and claims the company didn’t warn them about the disease, they may try to file a lawsuit.
Sherwood went on to say how she hopes businesses are warning their travelers to take the necessary precautions.
