Elizabeth Huynh began her legal career as a deputy district attorney for Ventura County, where she was recognized for her jury trial record. In particular, she obtained seven verdicts for the state in the span of only six months – a record at the agency for that designated time period and a fraction of the overall number of cases she tried for the agency.

After two years, however, Elizabeth wanted to practice closer to her home of Orange County. She chose Walsworth for its deep Orange County roots and for the many positive things she had heard about the firm. Now as a partner – and after nine years with the firm – Elizabeth enjoys being a part of a unique, incredible and progressive team.

Elizabeth is a first-generation American who was raised by a single, immigrant mother, and is the only person in her family to obtain a doctoral degree.

Here are Elizabeth’s answers to some of the questions posed to her about her life and career:

How do you “recharge your batteries”?
I love Pilates and spinning. A session doing either lifts my spirits and renews my focus and determination. Pilates requires concentration and strength, whereas spinning allows me to completely let loose while enjoying really great music.

What goal(s) have you yet to achieve?
I would really love to learn how to garden correctly. I enjoy container gardening with succulents, and indoor gardening, but putting an entire landscape together and knowing how to do all of that correctly is a whole different ballpark.

Anything obscure that you know “more than the average bear” about?
I took welding as an elective in high school and was proud to be the only female in the class. I haven’t welded since then, but am pretty confident I can still weld a bead today.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
I love to travel with my husband and have had the privilege of traveling to a number of really incredible places. Our last visit to Vietnam several years ago was the most amazing vacation we have been on to date. There are some pretty fantastic UNESCO World Heritage sites in Vietnam, like the Phong Nha-Khe Bang, the location of the world’s largest cave. Nowhere else have we experienced utter speechlessness and awe over the sights we saw in Vietnam.

What do you find most rewarding/satisfying about the practice of law?
The fact that you can get to an objective different ways. Strategizing to achieve goals for clients is very rewarding.
