Attorney: Dee Cohen Katz | Published 4.18.17

Orange, California—April 18, 2017—Walsworth is proud to announce that partner Dee Cohen Katz has been nominated for the Orange County Business Journal’s 2017 “Women in Business Awards.” The awards are designed to recognize Orange County women who have made impactful contributions to their professions and within their communities. All nominees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 2 at the Hotel Irvine Jamboree Center in Irvine, California.

Dee joined Walsworth in 1995 in its Orange, California headquarters. In the 22 years since, she has developed a successful litigation practice emphasizing the defense of businesses for claims involving products liability, environmental substances, premises liability and general business litigation matters.

“Dee advocates vigorously for clients,” said co-managing partner Mary Watson Fisher. “She is also an integral part of the firm’s core structure serving on various management committees and is a mentor to many associates and partners, alike.”

Dee actively participates in national industry conferences and is regularly invited to give lectures and presentations for various clients and industry and business groups on current trends in the law. She currently serves as a Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), the largest professional association in the insurance industry.

As a partner in a certified woman-owned firm, diversity is not just a trend or about paying lip service. Instead, Dee is a passionate believer that diversity makes a difference in the workplace and in society in general. She is relentless about continuing the conversation beyond diversity to inclusion. In the last four months alone, she has organized and led discussions on the topic at two conferences with panels of distinguished industry leaders.

In the words of one of her clients, “I know that Dee is committed to making sure there is true diversity not only in her firm, but in the industry as well. She is a role model for young women and all attorneys, as she possesses a strong work ethic and impeccable moral character.”

We congratulate Dee and all of the outstanding business women nominated.
