Overview

Kelly (Ka In) Chan is an associate at Walsworth who focuses her practice on environmental, real estate, general liability, and employment matters. Kelly participates in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including case management, written discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing motions, and pre-trial workup.

Before joining Walsworth, Kelly gained experience representing a variety of corporate clients and public entities in general liability, labor and employment, intellectual property, and business related matters. She has attended hearings, mediations, and mandatory settlement conferences on behalf of her clients, and routinely argued pretrial motions in both Federal and State court.

Kelly is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Representative Successes
  • Obtained an early stage dismissal on a wrongful death lawsuit against a public entity based on the grounds that plaintiff cannot establish an element for the cause of action for dangerous condition of a public property.
  • Negotiated a five-figure settlement for a habitability case in which the demand was at least seven-figures.

Beyond the Office

Kelly was born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver before she moved to Los Angeles in 2016. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys listening to music, hiking, and attending concerts.
