Walsworth Partner Laurie Sherwood to Present at 2018 NAMWOLF Annual Conference

Walsworth Partner Laurie Sherwood will serve as a moderator on a panel, “Big Brother Is Watching: Do Employers Have the Right to Police Employee Off-Duty Conduct?” at the 2018 NAMWOLF Annual Conference on September 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF), founded in 2001, is a nonprofit trade association comprised of minority and women owned law firms and other interested parties throughout the United States.

The session will take place on Friday, September 28 at 8:15 a.m. and will address the issues relating to how far an employer may legally go to monitor and discipline employees for off-duty conduct. Topics for discussion include how the legalization of marijuana, use of social media, and criminal activities impact the workplace.

Laurie will be joined by a group of leaders in the industry including: Mary Ulmer Jones, Associate General Counsel/Senior Vice President, Bank of America; Cheryl Jackson, Corporate Counsel, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Cos.; Scott A. Freedman, Senior Counsel, Southern California Gas; Daniel N. Ramirez, Partner, Monty Ramirez Law; and Chad K. Lang, Partner, SMGQ Law.
