Legal Support Assistant

We are currently in search of a Legal Support Assistant to become part of our team. This position will assist our teams of attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants in servicing our clients, with the key responsibility of processing and distributing legal notices.  This position is expected to continually grow its understanding and ability to perform legal support functions in a law firm environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of law office experience and is looking to take the next step in their career.  This position has the opportunity to be 100% remote for the candidate with strong organization and efficiency skills.  Qualified applicants must reside in California, Tennessee, or South Carolina.  Daily video and phone calls will be necessary.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Document Distribution:  Assist with distribution of documents and legal notices.
  • Document Retrieval:  Assist with the search, retrieval and download of documents and files.
  • Document Management:  Assist with management of electronic and physical documents, including adherence to established naming and organization protocols and procedures to facilitate future retrieval.
  • Legal Calendar Maintenance:  Assist as back-up with the maintenance of matter calendar.  Facilitate distribution of weekly/daily calendars.
  • Communication:  Ensure attorneys and legal support staff have accurate and up-to-date information regarding requested tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritize and multitask while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of the process and results.
  • Experience working at a law firm is a plus
  • Some college work preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and other professional office applications.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this non-exempt California-based position is $20 – $25 per hour, not including applicable overtime, and represents Walsworth’s reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
