How We Began
While others his age were hitting the beach with their surfboards, a young Jeff Walsworth began his professional career by pushing a lawnmower over the landscape of a rapidly changing and growing Orange County, California. Putting himself through college with commercial landscaping jobs, he developed a loyal following among local business owners, corporations, and professionals who quickly recognized Jeff as personable, motivated, and willing to roll up his sleeves and dive into his work. Even then, he considered his clients invaluable and listened closely when they shared their thoughts and insight. A common theme among them was how each placed great significance on the importance of hard work and commitment to others in their business and personal lives. Jeff took these lessons to heart and was even more grateful when they encouraged and inspired him to pursue a legal career.
The Start of a Journey
In 1976, after caring for many lawns, Jeff received his law degree. At the graduation ceremony, a number of his former landscaping clients were in attendance.
At the time he started his law practice, Jeff was the youngest attorney in the state of California. Through their knowledge of his character, work ethic, and concern for both them and their companies, some of those same executives became clients. The qualitative concepts Jeff’s mentors instilled in him were so deeply etched into his mind, that they formed the foundation for his partnership with Ferdie Franklin, Ron Bevins, and Mike McCall, who all shared in Jeff’s vision and beliefs. Walsworth Franklin Bevins & McCall, LLP was born.
Walsworth Today
Now we are known simply as Walsworth. With the help of many people, we took a dream and grew it into a flourishing practice with over 65 lawyers and three offices.
As in the days when Jeff tended landscapes, Walsworth supremely values our clients. Not coincidentally, we continue to support the same principles of our founding partners to provide opportunity, recognize hard work, and nurture and honor relationships with both clients and employees. These guiding values have created a law firm that is diverse, collaborative, and able to provide high-quality, cost-effective services tailored to achieve clients’ specific goals and garner exemplary results.
