Walsworth Achieves Top 5 Ranking in Law360’s 2023 Women in Law Report and Top 3 Ranking in ‘The Ceiling Smashers’

Published 9.7.23

Walsworth is pleased to announce that it was ranked fourth among firms with 100 or fewer attorneys in Law360’s 2023 Women in Law Report, a nationwide ranking based on female representation at all attorney levels. In addition, Walsworth was ranked third among firms with 100 or fewer attorneys in “The Ceiling Smashers,” Law360’s ranking of firms for female attorney representation in their equity partnerships.

Walsworth was the only firm with more than 60 attorneys that received a top 5 ranking in this year’s Women in Law Report. This marks the eighth consecutive year that the firm has achieved a ranking in this report, which was formerly known as the “Glass Ceiling Report.”

“Our greatest assets are our diverse perspectives and ability to attract and retain high-caliber talent,” said Managing Partner Dee Cohen Katz. “Walsworth’s values-driven approach to growth, retention, and advancement has been the key driver in our consistently high rankings.”

Law360’s Women in Law Report ranks firms nationwide based on a “pipeline score,” which measures the number of percentage points a firm exceeds or falls below Law360’s benchmarks for several categories of female attorneys including equity partners, non-equity partners, and associates. Law360’s benchmarks were established through a complex methodology that analyzed data from the American Bar Association and Law360’s historical survey data.

Walsworth’s pipeline score in the 2023 Women in Law Report was 19.6. By comparison, the next highest pipeline score was 12.2, among firms with 100 or fewer attorneys.

Women composed 82.4 percent of equity partners, 65.2 percent of nonequity partners, and 78.9 percent of associates, as of December 31, 2022, compared with Law360’s benchmarks of 44 percent, 46.8 percent, and 53.4 percent, respectively.

“We are honored to once again receive a top 5 ranking and remain firmly committed to gender equity and providing advancement opportunities for every member of our internal community,” said Partner and Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Soniya Khemlani.
